Healthy Minds Alliance Mission:
Healthy Minds Alliance is a community-based approach to the mental health crisis utilizing evidenced-based/ informed programs in diverse communities across the nation.
Purpose of Position:
AmeriCorps Members will provide expanded support to meet challenges faced by local crisis call centers across the country as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline shifts to the 3-digitnumber 988.
Identified Programs:
AmeriCorps Members are trained in the mental health intervention identified by the local crisis call center.
Local Crisis Call Center, PRS CrisisLink:
PRS CrisisLink sa nationally recognized Crisis Center of Excellence and Accredited Contact Center, answering local and national calls, texts, and chats.
Since 2020, CrisisLink has been entirely remote, with staff living and working across the US This AmeriCorps position would also be REMOTE.
Asa Crisis Worker with PRS, you would:
Respond to crisis contacts by greeting clients and establishing rapport by being accepting, empathetic, objective, non-judgmental, non-directive, and responsive to the feelings of the client.
Explore the client's emotional and mental state using active, positive, comforting, and problem-solving language; following established protocols; identifying warning signs; and assessing the degree of clients' risk.
Provide safety and security for clients by assuring them of their confidentiality and privacy and ensuring that any information shared by the client is kept confidential.
Provide referrals to resources; call for emergency medical treatment and/or police intervention, if necessary.
Accurately reflect crisis contact interactions in corresponding contact reports throughout and at the end of each contact.
Participate in educational opportunities provided by and through PRS CrisisLink to stay current on job-related knowledge.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Build capacity to recruit other volunteers for the crisis call center Assist with onboarding and training of other volunteers Provide performance measure data to Health360 Establish and foster relationships with community mental health agencies as partners and resources Serve as a resource to course participants on an ongoing basis Respect the privacy of colleagues and others, including the responsibility to protect personal information Advocate for mental health awareness whenever possible Participate in AmeriCorps large service project Participate in monthly calls held nationally by Health360 Assist host site with ongoing mental health community initiatives and regional eventsExperience Preferred:
Personal and/ or professional knowledge of mental health topics Understanding of mental health issues and resources Knowledge about mental health resources in her/his community and state Positive attitudes towards individuals with mental illnesses Enthusiasm for reducing the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness and addiction disordersDetails and Benefits include:
Complete a 10-month service commitment, specific dates will be determined by the host site supervisor Full-time AmeriCorps position -1700 service hours -40 hours per week, 5 holidays, 2.
5 personal days AmeriCorps members receive a $16,000stipend for their service-paid biweekly = 22 checks $6,345Education Award upon completion of service commitment(1700 service hours) Bachelor's Degree Required Term of service is limited to a maximum of12 months with approval by Health360.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
